      Myrrh
commiphora myrrha

Aroma: Myrrh has a warm, sweet balsamic, slightly spicy aroma.

Extraction: Oil is obtained through the steam distillation of the crude myrrh.

Benefits: The therapeutic properties are very similar and equally powerful to Frankincense.  Myrrh harmonizes the spiritual world with the material world, giving us force and optimism.  Myrrh is more powerful than Frankincense in healing mycoses and is useful in aromatherapy against excessive water retention and is also helpful during the menstrual cycle.

Blends: Myrrh blends well with Geranium, Patchouli, Thyme, and Pine.

Safety Precautions: Not to be used during pregnancy.
