Aroma: Clary Sage has a sweet, nutty, herbaceous aroma.
Extraction: Steam distillation from the
flowers and leaves.
Characteristics: Clear to pale yellow
light liquid.
Benefits: Physically, the antiseptic,
astringent, and bactericidal actions of
Clary Sage make it helpful in the
treatment of skin ailments: acne,
inflammations, and oily skin and hair
including dandruff. High blood
pressure and muscular aches and pains
benefit from its use. Clary Sage aids in the
treatment of depression, migraines, tension,
and stress related disorders. Clary Sage seems
to support vivid dreams by strengthening the ability to dream. Use it in the evening, in a bath or sprayed into the air or on a pillow. It is believed to reinforce insights. At a spiritual level, Clary Sage influences this inner insight. It helps us to see and understand things more clearly. May be valuable in treating asthma as it relaxes spasms in bronchial tubes. Clary sage is one of the most powerful relaxants known in aromatherapy.
